The Astana Open continues on Thursday with a strong four-match schedule of play that will see players compete for spots in the quarterfinal. It will all start at 07:00 CET with a match between Ruusuvuori and Thompson. Both players scored solid victories in the first round and usually perform very well on hard courts. The Finn is the better indoor player but Thompson can be a tricky opponent to beat. After them, we will see Mannarino take on Sugita. Mannarino played very well in Cologne even taking a set from Zverev and he will look to continue that run here. Sugita came through the qualifiers and played solid tennis but against the Frenchman, he will have a hard task at hand.

The fourth match will start at 10:00 CET and it will be a match between Seppi and McDonald. Seppi is playing solid tennis here but so is McDonald. The American scored an upset win over Bublik in the previous round and he will look to repeat that feat against Seppi. The final match of the day will be played between number one seed Benoit Paire and Mikhail Kukushkin. It will be a good match for the native Kazakhstani player who will like his chances against Paire who has been in terrible form lately. No matter who wins it will be a very good and enjoyable match. It is set to start at 13:00 CET.
