The Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati will once again feature Medvedev as the top seed however Olympic champion Alexander Zverev is making a return.
The ATP 1000 event running from the 16th till the 22nd of August once again won't feature Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic but it will mark the return of Alexader Zverev to the courts. As in Toronto, Daniil Medvedev will once again be the top seed which is something he would like to get used to.
The top seed received an interesting draw facing either Nakashima or McDonald in the 2nd round. Both will be tricky matchups especially after going deep in Toronto. 2nd seed Stefanos Tsitipsa might face Sebastian Korda in the 2nd round which would be a delight for the packed stands of the Cincinnati courts.
Alexander Zverev is making a return to tennis after taking a break from his historic Olympic Games gold medal run. The German will have a tricky job possibly facing Lloyd Harris in the 2nd round. In the 3rd round, he might face another returnee in David Goffin who did not play since Halle due to injury.
There are several other notable 1st round matchups such as Tiafoe vs Humbert which should be good as well as Isner vs Norrie which is another good one. Cilic against Karatsev is another interesting one as well as Hurkacz vs Davidovich Fokina. Andy Murray received a wild card and he will face a qualifier in R1.
