The 5th day of the
ATP Finals will bring us interesting matches that will determine who will join Medvedev in the semifinals.
It will be a very interesting tennis day in Turin as the 5th day of the ATP Finals arrives. The first match, as always, will take place at 14:00 CET and it will feature
Alexander Zverev taking on
Hubert Hurkacz. It's a very crucial match for both players as they both need victories. Who wins will make a huge step towards the semifinals and Zverev has a lead in H2H matches so far.
The German was able to overcome Hurkacz in their only meeting so far but that was a long time ago. It came in 2019 in Madrid and on clay which has little meaning for the match today. The Pole is a much better player but he will need to produce his level against Medvedev to have a chance in this match. Otherwise, Zverev will run away with it.
The 2nd match will feature
Jannik Sinner and
Daniil Medvedev playing at 21:00. The arena will be packed and the Italian will be motivated to win the match in order to gather some more points and depending on the result maybe even advance to the semifinal. For Medvedev, the victory might not be too important but it will allow him to probably skip Djokovic in the semifinal.
It will all come down to the motivation of Medvedev but considering the stakes and the atmosphere, it's really hard to think that Medvedev will not give his best. The Russian loves to win and if he gives it all this will be a match you don't want to miss at any cost.
