Due to COVID-19, the ATP Rankings system changed already earlier this year, now we'll see a few more changes during 2021 season.
Novak Djokovic finished the 2020 season as year-end no. 1, and he will try to do the same also in 2021. But there will be a slight change in the way the rankings will be counted in the next season. A traditional 12-month ranking, which was later changed to 22-month best of ranking will be a 24-month best of ranking which will last until the 1st of March 2021.
Also, up until now only 19 events counted for the ATP Rankings for players. ATP Finals, 4 Grand Slams, 8 Masters and 6 'Best Other' which include ATP Cup, ATP 500, ATP 250, Challenger and ITF. In 2021, this will include 20 events with 'Best Other' changing to 7 events what will allow players to get even more points.
