After we saw several questionable calls early on in the clay season the ATP Tour is set to adopt tour-wide electronic line calling from 2025.
Electronic line calling has been quite a good innovation for tennis as it reduced the error rate to basically non-existent.
Humans are prone to errors and while many are for umpires to be present on a tennis court the sensible thing is to just adopt this and be done with it.
The ATP Tour is set to do that from the 2025 season onward ending the need for mark-checking on clay courts.
These events are one of the final ones that resisted this tech because generally, you can see a mark. It's not perfect though as a recent high-profile mistake during the Djokovic and Musetti match created a lot of controversy. Djokovic believed the ball to be wide and the replay showed it was however the umpire called it in.
