Felix Auger-Aliassime played his first match after his vacation and he looked pretty strong in a win over
Nick Kyrgios at the
World Tennis League 7-5 6-3.
It was a very interesting match especially since Kyrgios is still winless in singles in the new season. The Australian played a couple of matches but lost all of them and this one was the latest. He started well taking a 3-0 lead but found himself in trouble soon after that losing his serve. From there it was rather competitive but eventually, Auger proved too much.
He took the opening set 7-5 committing far fewer errors than his opponent. Kyrgios never quite found a good rhythm as Auger controlled the match. He broke Kyrgios twice in the second set to take it 6-3 finishing off the match in just over an hour. All in all, a very solid match by Auger-Aliassime who had 9 aces in this one.
