Iga Swiatek played her first match since the last season ended and she missed no beats looking pretty sharp to start to year and beating
Caroline Garcia 6-3 6-4.
Another interesting match happened in Dubai as part of the World Tennis League with Iga Swiatek taking on Caroline Garcia. It was a rather interesting match that was quite fast-paced. Only 67 minutes was needed for Swiatek to win the match but she didn't completely smash her opponent.
She just played very efficient taking her chances and focusing on getting to the finish line. It worked well as she took the first 6-3 and the second 6-4. Swiatek served pretty well in both sets and dominated points after her serve. She dropped only 7 points behind her first serve. Garcia had some success on the second serve forcing two break points and using one.
The issue for the French player came on her own serve as she didn't serve as well and gave Swiatek too many looks on her second serve. Six break points in total and Swiatek converted three of them which was more than enough to win the match.
