Auger Aliassime Aus Open
There is no beating Felix Auger-Aliassime as he improved to 3-0 against Carlos Alcaraz after another solid 6-3 6-2 win.
It's a matchup that we'll see for many more years to come and it should be one of those that will become legendary over time. Two fascinating young players going head to head but one has been the far better one so far.
This was the 3rd time that Auger-Aliassime left the court as the victor and the second time it happened this year. It was a rather straightforward match for the Canadian who demonstrated poise and maturity far more than Alcaraz.
Being the better server helped him greatly as he posted 6 aces and zero double faults compared to Alcaraz's zero aces and three double faults. If you add the fact that Alcaraz was misfiring badly most of the time it's not hard to see why Auger took the opening set 6-3.
The second set was quite similar but we saw a better Alcaraz. He returned better and attacked better reducing the number of errors which made the match far more interesting. Still, Auger-Aliassime was better and it translated to another rather comfortable win in the second set.
