Felix Auger-Aliassime keeps on winning with the Canadian taking down
Alexander Bublik 6-2 6-4 for the Basel semi-final.
It wasn't as impressive as the previous win over Kecmanov but it was pretty close. A few more games were lost, and some more minutes were spent on the court but a rather comfortable win nonetheless. Auger set the tone early by breaking Bublik and giving himself a 2-0 lead.
From there it was a rather simple journey toward a 6-2 finish which came sometime later. Auger-Aliassime had six aces and 18 winners overall in the opening set. What's fascinating is the fact that he only had two winners which is incredible.
Bublik tried his best but he was unable to match the same shot-making Auger had and his serve wasn't able to keep him in it either. The second set was quite similar but this time around Bublik took the initiative in most rallies trying to finish them off.
He had more errors than winners and that was simply not good enough as he dropped the second 3-6 as well. A brilliant win for Auger who had 31 winners and only 4 unforced errors.
