Spain’s
Carlos Alcaraz has revealed when he is going to get
another tattoo. The 21-year-old is already regarded as one of the best players
in the world currently playing in men’s tennis in the singles category along
with the likes of Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz is famous for getting a tattoo after big wins. He
has three tattoos on his body, each one after winning a Grand Slam. The young
Spaniard, who is currently taking part in the
Paris Masters, has been recently quoted
in a report where he revealed that he has eyes set on the
Australian Open glory
to have an other tattoo.
"I said [I would get a tattoo] for the first Grand
Slams I win, when I won the US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros, of course. But
when I won Wimbledon for a second time I did not put a tattoo on it. So,
hopefully Australian Open is going to be the next one,” he said.
Australian Open remains the only Grand Slam where Alcaraz
has not managed to lift the title. His best outing in Melbourne was in the 2024
edition, where he was knocked out after losing in the quarterfinal to Germany’s
Alexander Zverev with a score of 6-1, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. The 2024 edition was eventually
won by the reigning world number one Sinner. Italy’s tennis star defeated
Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final in a five-set thriller with a score of
3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
Alcaraz will open his journey in the Paris Masters with the
round of 32 clash against Chile’s Nicolas Jarry. The 29-year-old booked his
place in the second round of the mega-event after beating Italy’s Lorenzo
Sonego in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-3. It will be the fourth meeting
between the two in professional tennis. In the previous three outings, Alcaraz
has a slight edge as he won on two occasions.
