Carlos Alcaraz will mix youth with experience tomorrow evening at
Croatia Open Umag after defeating top seed Albert Ramos Vinolas to reach his maiden ATP final.
Awaiting him will be
Richard Gasquet who reached his first final in three years. The fourth seed battled past German ace Daniel Altmaier earlier today 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 after three hours and 11 minutes.
He had lost five consecutive semi-finals but used his experience to come through a marathon tie which saw him save seven out of 10 break points but the tie was prolonged due to his failure also to convert with 3/17.
On the other hand, the rising Spaniard won through 6-2, 7-6(3) edging a tiebreak in the end to see off his compatriot and becomes the youngest ATP finalist since Kei Nishikori in 2008 at Delray Beach Open who like Alcaraz was 18.
Who secures the clay court title tomorrow? Will it be youth or experience that comes through in Umag?
