Berrettini and Dimitrov through to next round at Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome

Matteo Berrettini and Grigor Dimitrov overcame tough opponents in order to reach the next round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome.

Matteo Berrettini and Grigor Dimitrov are through to the next round in Rome after difficult matches where both had to dig deep. Matteo faced off against another Italian Travaglia who proved a very tough player to beat on clay. The first set featured excitement early on as we saw two breaks in the first four games. Each player won one so the result was 2-2. After that, the play settled a bit with both player's serving well enough to hold the serve. We ended up in a tiebreak where Matteo proved the better player escaping with a narrow 7-5 victory.
The 2nd set was the same as the latter part of the first with no breaks. Berrettini broke Travaglia at a crucial time to take a 5-3 lead giving himself the chance to seal it with a strong service game. He failed to win it and after squandering one match point later in the much we once again arrived in a tiebreak. In it, Matteo crushed Travaglia with 7-1.
Grigor Dimitrov fought back against the stunning youngster Sinner to win a very exciting match with a lot of good tennis. The youngster struck first winning the first set after he took an early break. He remained composed holding his serve without much fuss to give himself the lead. The 2nd set featured two early breaks by both player's until they settled later on. Ultimately Dimitrov's experience gave him the edge in the final game of the set when Sinner served to remain in the set. A bit of nerves allowed Dimitrov to take it 6-4.
The final set was when he completely took over. He was winning service games with ease while Sinner struggled more and more. Ultimately he surrendered a break to give Dimitrov a 4-1 lead. From there on out the Bulgarian focused on his own play winning it comfortably 6-4.
