Simona Halep continued her Internazionali BNL d'Italia march with a strong display against Dayana Yastremska whom she beat in straight sets.

Simona Halep returned to the courts in Rome and so far her displays haven't disappointed. The previous match saw her play shaky tennis but still win and today a shaky start was quickly overcome by Halep. Yastremska came out furious in this match winning the first three games and it looked like Halep would have a tough day at the office but those sentiments were quickly erased.
First, she fought back to make it 3-3 with some stellar tennis. Then she proceeded to play great against Yastremska who struggled to match Halep as the set progressed. She ultimately crumbled at 5-5 giving Halep 3 consecutive breakpoints with Simona taking advantage of that. She served well to secure the first set 7-5. After that, it was only easier for the Romanian who broke her opponent in the 1st game of the 2nd set. She added another one several minutes later to take a 3-0 lead.
Yastremska managed to pull one break back Simona was still head with 4-2. At that result, she had break points to seal the deal but Yastremska saved multiple to stay in the match. The players won one game apiece when we arrived at 5-4 with Halep serving to end the match. She ultimately did it with many issues and continued her march in Rome.
