This is provisional so certain players like the US Open may decide against making the trip to Roland Garros. Two of those players who have since announced this are World Number 1, Ashleigh Barty who has decided to stay in Australia during not only Flushing Meadows but also Roland Garros.

US Open champion Naomi Osaka also announced her intention on Friday morning to withdraw due to a hamstring injury. It is one she has dealt with for some time it seems; with the Japanese ace having to pull out of the Western & Southern Open final against Victoria Azarenka.

She came back though and won the Grand Slam against the Belarusian last weekend; but won't transition to clay. Simona Halep will be number one seed as a result. Deciding against playing in the Hard Court swing, the 2018 champion won at the Prague Open; and decided to stay in Europe and head towards the clay.

Karolina Pliskova will be number two seed; while Sofia Kenin will be number three; despite being handed a double bagel by Victoria Azarenka in Rome. She will aim to get back on form in Paris.

Other names who decided against playing at the US Open; but will be involved this time around include Elina Svitolina and Kiki Bertens.

It is unknown as of time of writing whether Bianca Andreescu will be involved; the 20-year-old Canadian hasn't been in action since an injury ended a brilliant 2019 at the WTA Finals.

Serena Williams will once again go for Number 24; and despite deciding against playing in Rome due to an Achilles injury will likely be one of the favourites for the title.

Azarenka was previously alluded to and given her brilliance already in Rome; and her resurgence as of late, she despite being down in 25th will be like Serena; one of the favourites to lift the title.

There is currently 106 main draw entrants with Tsvetana Pironkova who returned so well at Flushing Meadows after three years out; and Istanbul Open runner-up and former World No.5, Genie Bouchard among the wildcards.
