Lleyton Hewitt officially became a Hall of Famer yesterday and the 2021 class member is getting a lot of praise on social media.
The career of Lleyton Hewitt is known to most tennis fans with the Australian showing a lot of passion for the game while playing. Never giving up and never quitting were the hallmarks of his play that saw him become world number one and lift a couple of grand slams. After being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, colleagues poured in with congratulatory messages.
Billie Jean King was at the forefront of it writing her message on Twitter. Andy Murray sent in a video saying:
"You're an amazing player, someone I looked up to, and I loved watching."
Andy Roddick was another one who congratualted him by writing:
"Always an honor to be back at Tennis Hall of Fame! Well deserved and congrats to Lleyton Hewitt!"
