Rafael Nadal seems likely to play at the Montreal Masters in Canada in the near future with the director confirming that his hotel rooms are booked.
Rafael Nadal last played at Wimbledon where he had to pull out of the semifinal clash with Kyrgios due to an abdominal tear. Since then Nadal has spent time back home in Mallorca rehabbing the injury and preparing for the 2nd part of the season.
The Montreal Masters is the first major stop in that 2nd part of the season and Nadal seems to be willing to play the event. That is according to the tournament director who said:
"Nadal really wants to come to Montreal and his hotel rooms are already booked. He was sent a crate of balls to use during the tournament to prepare. He should return to training on Monday."
Nadal himself has not commented on his immediate plans opting to wait and see how the injury progresses. It's a tricky injury that can get worse if you put yourself under exertion which was the reason why Nadal pulled out from Wimbledon. If he played he could have made it worse than it was.
