It was a very strong match by both player but once again Borna Coric proved better than Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek player opened this match better as had some early break point. Coric held on but he was unable to do the same in the final game of the opening set when Tsitsipas broke for the 6-4 finish.
The second set opened well for Tsitsipas as well as he took an early break 2-0 but the Croatian did not give up knowing that Tsitsipas would hit a wall. He did and Coric was able to make it 2-2 after which the player largely traded games.
Coric had to save a break point but after he did, Tsitsipas gave him a chance to break and he took it. The Croatian took the second set 6-4 forcing a decider. It was a good decider but also one where Tsitsipas struggled to exert too much pressure on Coric.
Borna broke first but Tsitsipas broke back right away and in the end it went the distance in which Coric defeated the Greek narrowly in a tie-break to reach his fourth Quarter-Final of the season.
