Nadal's first match at the
United Cup did not prove a success as he lost a very competitive match to
Cameron Norrie who is playing really well 3-6 6-3 6-4.
Cameron Norrie continued his excellent run of tennis by beating
Rafael Nadal at the United Cup after three sets. The match was very competitive and lasted almost three hours with Norrie completing the comeback win. The first set was played really well by both players as Norrie was unable to play the crucial rallies better than Nadal.
The second set was quite similar except it featured slightly better play by Norrie and it made all the difference. He was able to pressure Nadal much more and eventually outplayed him in the crucial rallies to win it. Norrie also served better which made it easier for him to keep Nadal away from any break points.
The match was trending in Norrie's favour for quite a while in the second set so him winning the final set didn't come as a surprise. Nadal had a lot of issues on his second serve in the final set with Norrie applying heavy pressure. Both had break points but Norrie saved all of the ones he faced which Nadal didn't and that proved crucial.
