Cameron Norrie won the 2021 Mifel Open in Los Cabon by defeating Brandon Nakashima 6-2 6-2 in the final.
It's the first career title for Norrie after playing several finals in 2021. The British player is enjoying a breakout season where he collected his 35th win of the season against the up and coming American. Norrie played great tennis all week long not dropping a single set against very good competition.
In the final, he came out furious never allowing Nakashima to find any sort of rhythm. He got two early breaks in each of the two sets before adding one later to close out both of them with 6-2. Norrie's decision to skip the Olympics was received with criticism but the British player highlighted the need to improve as a player and on the rankings.
Both came true this week in Los Cabos and Norrie won't question his decision anymore. His journey will continue in Atlanta next week if he decides to play it and he will have a chance to further improve. Congratulations.
