Carlos Alcaraz upped his level from the previous round to quite easily defeat Grigor Dimitrov 6-1 6-3 in the
Paris Masters quarter-final.
The Spaniard played a really strong match against Dimitrov who did have good moments but for the most part, he was rather overwhelmed. Alcaraz took Dimitrov by surprise hitting the ball really well and finishing off points with winners.
The Bulgarian tried to up his attacking play as well but it resulted in many errors which only hastened the opening set win for Alcaraz. The final score was 6-1 and it looked really bad when Alcaraz took a 3-0 lead in the second set.
Trying his best to avoid disaster, Dimitrov did manage to play several good games to battle back to 3-3. He even had 40-15 on the serve of Alcaraz with a chance to take a 4-3 lead but the Spaniard held and proceeded to finish it off 6-3.
A very streaky showing from Alcaraz but a really strong one as he marches on in Paris.
