Carlos Alcaraz secured his 50th victory of the season, becoming the only man to achieve this milestone for three consecutive years. The 4-time Grand Slam champion continues to impress fans, and at just 21 years old, he has surpassed 200 career victories.
Alcaraz extended his winning streak in the Asian Swing to 11 consecutive victories. He won two matches in the Laver Cup and two in the Davis Cup, before claiming the title in Beijing last week with a win over Jannik Sinner in the final. He has already advanced to the Round of 16 at the Shanghai Masters, after defeating local players Shang Juncheng and Wu Yibing to reach his 50th win of the season.
Even more impressive is that Alcaraz has secured at least 50 wins in each of the last three seasons, making him the only male player to do so. He finished with 57 wins in 2022 and 65 in 2023. He could add up to four more victories this week if he clinches the title, and there are still a few tournaments ahead: Alcaraz is expected to play at the Paris Masters, followed by the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup to conclude his season.

Alcaraz win-loss record by year (Tour-level):

2020: 1-1
2021: 32-17
2022: 57-13
2023: 65-12
2024: 50-9

The only male players with a chance to match Alcaraz's 50-win milestone are Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, who achieved this in 2022 and 2023. Rublev currently has 39 wins this season, while Tsitsipas has 38.
On the women’s side, only one player has won at least 50 matches in the last three seasons: world No. 1 Iga Swiatek. The Polish star won 67 matches in 2022 and 68 in 2023, and she already has 59 wins this season. No other female player has matched her record over the last three seasons, as she was the only one to surpass 50 wins in 2022.
This isn’t the only milestone for Alcaraz after defeating Wu, as he also reached 100 wins on hard courts, making him the third male player born in the 2000s to achieve this feat.

Men born in 2000s with 100+ hardcourt wins (Tour-level):

Jannik Sinner [2001]: 176
Felix Auger-Aliassime [2000]: 142
Carlos Alcaraz [2003]: 100
