Carlos Alcaraz defeated Diego Schwartzman 6-4 6-2 in the Rio Open final to win his biggest trophy of his career.

It is only the 2nd trophy Alcaraz has won in his career but it's his first ATP 500 trophy. The Spaniard played a superb event to reach the final and in the final he faced Diego Schwartzman. The Argentinian played a brilliatn event as well but in the final he was overmatched by Alcaraz who pretty much played a flawless match.

The first set was a set where he shoed all his skills as a tennis players. It was a very good match by both and it was actually Schwartzman who took the early 2-0 lead. Alcaraz battled back to make it 2-2 and after that proceeded to play even better. He attacked continously and slowly broke down Schwartzman in the rallies and the match.

He won the opening setwith 6-4 hitting 13 winners and 4 unforced errors. The Spaniard mixed his aggresion well with other shots including several drop shots which were very effective. He played even better in the 2nd set continuing to attack Schwartzman. He took a double break lead in the 2nd set and finished it off with 6-2 for the major trophy.

A great week for the Spaniard who won his 2nd career trophy. He became the youngest player to ever win an ATP 500 title and he will make his top 20 debut tomorrow.
