Pablo Carreno Busta and
Filip Krajinovic won their semifinal matches at the
Hamburg European Open setting up a finals clash.
Krajinovic was the first player to play today and he faced off against compatriot
Laslo Djere. Krajinovic put forward an excellent display against Tsitsipas where his forehand was extremely sound especially late. A similar thing happened today as well as Djere found it very tough to counter Krajinovic and his level.
Krajinvoic won the first set with 6-4 and the 2nd with 6-2 cruising to the ATP 500 final. He will face off against Pablo Carreno Busta who solved a tricky riddle for him named Federico Delbonis. The Argentinian lead 5-2 in H2H matches ahead of this one and won their sole match in 2021.
However, it was Carreno Busta who got the better off him this time around winning in straight sets. The first set was a very close one where neither player had a break point in the set. We ended up in the tiebreak where Busta came out on top 7-2. He continued to play well in the 2nd set wrapping it up with 6-3.
It will be an interesting final between two players who played the best tennis in Hamburg this week. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the final report.
