Carlos Alcaraz injured his leg ahead of the
Australian Open which will cuase him to miss the evnet as he alread announced that he's pulling out.
It's a terrible start to the year for Alcaraz but not very different to the end of his year. He didn't finish the year he wanted to because of an abdominal injury and it's a worrying sign for the Spanish player who has accumulated several injuries so far in his life. The cause of the injury was believed to be exhibitino matches leading up to the event but that's not true.
It was actually a practice match against 15-year-old talent Darwin Branch. According to reports Alcaraz injured himself while trying to return a drop shot by the youngster. Alcaraz has a habit of doing sliding splits which can be risky and this time around it cost him the Australian Open. He actually finished the match as he thought it wasn't serious but that was a mistake as well.
