Another ATP Tour player faces a
doping ban, none other than a graduate of the Rafa Nadal Academy. He currently faces a provisional suspension, which prohibits him from participating in professional tennis events until a ruling is issued.
The 23-year-old player has competed in the ITF category, mainly playing M25 and M15 tournaments. His doping sample was taken after his participation in the ITF Catalonia M25 on March 9th, as announced by the
International Tennis Integrity Agency.
"The sample was split into A and B samples and the subsequent analysis found that the A sample contained cocaine (and its metabolites), which is prohibited under the TADP, in the category of Stimulants,” the
ITIA shared in a recent statement. "Cocaine is a non-Specified substance. Findings for non-Specified Substances carry a mandatory provisional suspension – in Sibille’s case, this has been in effect from May 8, 2025."
The young Moroccan player debuted on the Tour in 2019 – at just 17 years old – against none other than former No. 1 Andy Murray. The Brit secured a resounding victory 6-0, 6-1, but Sibille was already showing signs that he could make the leap to the top level sooner rather than later. However, that never happened, with a current ranking of World No. 2081 and his best ranking as No. 1433.
