"Could be the next Rafael Nadal of our tennis": Tsitsipas gives high praise to Alcaraz

Stefanos Tsitsipas thinks that Carlos Alcaraz could be the next Nadal of tennis giving him high praise as they both are set to play at the Barcelona Open.

Alcaraz and Tsitsipas played at the event last year as well with Alcaraz beating the Greek in three sets en route to winning the event. Ahead of this year's event, Tsitsipas heavily praised Alcaraz admitting that he could be one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen. He made the comparison between the two when he was asked about Nadal:

"He definitely offers a lot to our sport. And when he's around, you can feel his presence and his energy and how hard he works for every point. And his spirit, the spirit that he puts out on the court is an example."

He added:

'We have someone that looks a little bit like him, which is Carlos Alcaraz, in terms of how he gets to every ball on the court and how he covers pretty much half of the planet when he plays. So they have a lot of similarities, and I think he [Alcaraz] could be the next Rafael Nadal of our tennis.”
