Gael Monfils: “I'm very far from that level. I'm not even sure that I really have the level to win matches. For the moment, I'm far from winning matches. We have to go back to work, continue…”
Gael Monfils is winless since returning to action at Indian Wells with the 36-year-old suffering defeat to Jiri Lehecka at Srpska Open Banja Luka.
He was out of action for six months before making his comeback after the birth of his daughter Skai and while his wife, Elina Svitolina has been having up and down form - it is firmly back to the drawing board for Monfils.
He said to L'Equipe that he doesn't feel at the level that he can win at the moment but that he has to continue and try.
"I'm not far, I'm very far from that level. I'm not even sure that I really have the level to win matches. For the moment, I'm far from winning matches. We have to go back to work, continue," he told L'Equipe.
