Daniil Medvedev is back to winning ways as the Russian made his way past
Jannik Sinner at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna 6-4 6-2.
The score indicates a fairly easy win and while not easy, it was certainly comfortable. Sinner was dangerous at times but Medvedev was just impossible to break down which is a problem many players have. The Italian simply does not have the game and variety to mix it up enough to make Medvedev guess.
When you start shaky as Sinner did against Medvedev you can't expect much. The early 2-0 lead was enough for Medvedev who kept his serve and finished it off 6-4. The Russian did lose points in most service games but never allowed a single break point which was more than enough.
The second set was even more impressive as Medvedev was in a better rhythm and Sinne risked more. The gamble did not pay off for the Italian had more errors than winners. He also served a bit worse with Medvedev being on top of his game and closing out the match 6-2.
