World no. 4 Daniil Medvedev is through to his second Major final at the Australian Open, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-2, 7-5 in two hours and nine minutes.
After failing to reach the semi-final at four consecutive tournaments after the last year's US Open, Daniil found his best tennis from the Paris Masters, winning two ATP crowns and the ATP Cup for his country before advancing into the Australian Open title clash.
Medvedev has won the last 20 matches on the Tour, becoming the sixth active player to achieve that after Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Murray. The Russian has gathered massive 4700 points since Paris to move in front of Dominic Thiem and enter the top-3 for the first time in a career.
