Daniil Medvedev wins the 2019 Diriyah Tennis Cup

Medvedev was almost flawless in Saudi Arabia. First, he defeated Jan-Lennard Struff, losing only 4 games during the match. Later he defeated David Goffin, losing just 6 games.

In the final, he faced Fabio Fognini. He spoke about the Italian ahead of the match when he said: "It’s never easy to play Fabio, a tricky opponent – he played amazing today, hitting some amazing shots, he’s a really tough opponent. The main goal for me is to win the tournament."

Medvedev started the match perfectly when he broke Fognini's service game to gain an early lead. He later added another break to win the first set 6-2 in just 24 minutes.

In the second set, Medvedev started with a break again. He did not allow Fognini to have any breakpoints during the match and added another break in the second set to secure the lead. Medvedev won the second set 6-2 to win the 2019 Diriyah Tennis Cup.
