Berrettini on relationship with Tomljanovic: "Dating Ajla helps, she understands demands of Tour"

Matteo Berrettini and Ajla Tomljanovic have been one of the most prominent tennis couples in recent memory.

The Australian - Italian duo have been in a relationship even before the pandemic started and since then the strenuous times have not affected them negatively. After spending time together when the Tour got suspended they both came out strong in 2021 playing very good tennis and achieving good results. They recently took their relationship to the wider public by making an appearance at the 2021 Met Gala.

In a recent interview Berrettini spoke about the relationship saying:

"It takes a lot to get used to it. Now I'm dating Tomljanovic, something that is positive because she understands me and knows the demands of the tour. My family also tries to travel with me on certain occasions. I don't see them as much as I would like, but they are happy to see me enjoy this dream."

Berrettini also touched upon his life before tennis stardom explaining he was just a regular boy growing up in a room never envisioning himself as a tennis star:

"I didn't label myself as a future tennis star as a teenager. So I lived as a normal teenager. I lived in Rome, I enjoyed life, but I never went out or did crazy things. As I grew and got better, I began to realize what the whole life of a professional tennis player is like: spending 10 to 11 months going around the world."
