Juan Martin Del Potro is set to retire from tennis and many former and current players have paid tribute to the Argentine with the latest being
Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Greek tennis player is a huge fan of tennis and has watched a lot of it growing up. From his mother being a professional player and his father a coach for the majority of his life, Tsitsipas grew up around the game. Tsitsipas admired several players growing up but he enjoyed watching two in particular. One was Roger Federer which is almost universal for all tennis fans and the other was Juan Martin Del Potro.
Speaking about his retirement from tennis in Rotterdam, Tsitsipas said:
"Del Potro has always been my favourite tennis player, along with Federer. I grew up watching him play, and now I’m so sorry to see him announce his retirement in tears."
Tsitsipas also paid tribute to Del Potro admitting that he had a huge impact on his career:
"He has had a huge impact both in my career and in the entire world of tennis."
