The 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters is set to begin on April 9th yet Novak Djokovic is already in Monaco to prepare as well as he can for the upcoming event.
Djokovic hasn't played since Dubai missing the Sunshine double but he's in Monaco early to better prepare for the upcoming Masters there. He's quite familiar with the event and courts having lived in Monaco for many years so the transition should be smooth generally but he's never been one not to prepare accordingly.
Djokovic has been hitting the courts in Belgrade for weeks so he should be ready to go in a week's time. The Serb hasn't had much success in Monaco in the past few appearances losing to Davidovich Fokina last year and Dan Evans the year prior. The hope is that he'll do much better this year before the clay season continues in Rome where he won last year and Madrid where he lost to Alcaraz.
He posted a photo from the stadium in Monaco where he used to train for many years on Instagram.
