If he’s not terrified then we shouldn’t be, right?
Alexander Zverev is in Monte-Carlo and the German is excited about being back on clay sending a message of love towards the surface that cost him almost a year of tennis last year.
A bump in the clay at Roland Garros last year destroyed Zverev's ankle on a side movement leaving him in pain and rehabbing for months in order to get back to tennis. He was playing his best clay tennis at that time which makes the injury even more painful than it already is. Yet, he's quite excited to be back on it posting a story from Monte-Carlo ahead of the upcoming Masters even there.
The story shows Zverev sliding fearlessly showing himself totally comfortable with being back on the surface where the injury happened. It's not an easy thing to do because injuries like that stay with you but Zverev seems ready to tackle the challenge. He played spectacularly on the surface last year.
He captioned the story with: “Dear clay, will we fall in love again?”
