Djokovic comes back to win against Khachanov in Belgrade, moves to the Serbia Open final

For the 3rd time this week, Novak Djokovic was able to come back after dropping the first set and win with this win getting him the final of the event 4-6 6-1 6-2.

This week has been everything Novak Djokovic would have hoped for as the Serbian is through to the final of the event while also getting some much-needed matches in. Struggling in these matches was never the plan for Djokovic but it was a positive struggle as he emerged better and stronger after every match. The match started slowly for him, again. He dropped his serve in the first game he played and it proved costly.

So costly that Khachanov was able to finish off the first set with 6-4 after being able to keep Djokovic away from a break. The Russian played fairly well and it's not unusual for him to have these excellent showings. Unfortunately for him, he did the Khachanov thing once more by completely eroding as the match went on.

Djokovic broke him early in the 2nd set and the Russian never recovered. The Serb knew exactly what to do and he was able to rush to a 4-1 lead after which he added another break to finish off the job with 6-1. Things did not start better for the Russian in the final set. He dropped his serve in the first game of the match and that gave Djokovic the 3-1 lead.

He added another break to take a 5-1 lead and eventually finished it off with 6-2 for the win. He awaits either Rublev or Fognini in the final.
