Djokovic defeats Khachanov in Abu Dhabi to secure 3rd place

After losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinal in Abu Dhabi, Djokovic fought for the 3rd place against Khachanov. Karen Khachanov lost to Rafael Nadal in his semifinal match.

The former world number 1 from Serbia started the match better when he broke the first Khachanov's service game. But the young Russian was able to fight back and used his break point in the next game. Both players held their serve's for some time in the first set until Djokovic broke Khachanov's service to win the first set 7-5.

In the 2nd set, Djokovic was the only one who had a break point. And he was able to convert it in the 4th game to gain 3-1 lead. He did not lose that later and won the second set 6-3. After one unsuccessful match, Djokovic finished on the 3rd place in Abu Dhabi.
