Bruneau on Andreescu playing in 2020 Tokyo Olympics: 'She has the Canadian flag tattooed on her heart and totally dedicated to the cause'

Sylvain Bruneau, coach of US Open winner Bianca Andreescu has said that she will play both the Fed Cup and Olympics next year.

Doubts potentially would arise on Andreescu's potential inclusion; but Bruneau has rushed to admit that she is dedicated to playing in it.

"Bianca is a super-patriotic athlete and is entirely dedicated to playing the Fed Cup and the Olympics; she told me from the first day I met her.

She has the Canadian flag tattooed on her heart and totally dedicated to the cause."

Speaking about Andreescu's 2020 schedule, Bruneau said: "She is going to play the Auckland tournament, but will start playing again only in the next few days; so we are a little behind the usual pace.

We will not accelerate the preparation to be ready for Auckland, we will see how the pre-season will go; we will evaluate when the time comes. If more training time is needed; we will not go to Auckland and we will prepare properly for the Australian Open."
