After
losing a set to Struff in the first match, Djokovic did not experience any major difficulties with any of his following opponents.
He defeated Ito in the 2nd round and
Nishioka in the third. World number 2 faced a big obstacle in the 4th round when he played against Diego Schwartzman.
But the 14th seeded player also did not seem to be a big hindrance for the
7-time Australian Open Champion. Djokovic did not manage to hit that many aces as in the previous matches, but he kept a high-level mainly on the return and converted 50% of the breakpoints.
That led the Serbian to a comfortable 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 victory over the Argentinian. In the next round, Djokovic will be facing Milos Raonic who has a stunning form in Melbourne. The tall Canadian did not lose a set yet as he defeated Giustino,
Garin,
Tsitsipas and Cilic.
