Novak Djokovic is going to break the record of Steffi Graff for most weeks at number one in a few days and he briefly talked about it during his press conference.
Djokovic recently held a press conference in Belgrade where he spoke with the media in an open manner for the first time since winning the Australian Open. He was asked about becoming the sole owner of the record for most weeks at the number one spot in tennis on Monday, February 27th and he said:
"Thank you for the congratulations, I am extremely proud to have set another record, this time the record of Steffi Graf. I have [dedicated] everything in my life to this sport, I am lucky to have a great team of people around me and the unreserved support of my family on this journey. "
He doesn't plan to stop because there is very little reason to stop. He's still on top of his game and it's a product of him giving everything to stay this competitive:
"I try to always remind myself where I started from and what it all entailed to get here. At this stage of my career, I feel I have to put in even more effort in every way to keep up with the young challengers."
