Novak Djokovic and Nina Stojanovic put forward another dominant performance to move to the Mixed Doubles semifinal at the
Olympic Games 6-1 6-2.
The Serbian duo entered the match vs Siegemund and Krawietz as heavy favourites and they justified it especially early. Djokovic in doubles is always tough to deal with due to his stellar returning and today he created a lot of issues for the German pairing.
Stojanovic backed him up rather nicely and they were able to quickly wrap up the first set with 6-1. The 2nd set featured a bit more battle but once again the Serbians were able to take a break early.
The Germans were simply all over the place and committed four double faults which gave the Serbians ample opportunities to reak them. Both Djokovic and Stojanovic served well enough to keep the Germans at bay losing their serve only once early in the match.
After that, they settled in nicely and never allowed a break again. They cruised to a 6-2 finish in the 2nd set moving to the semifinal. They will have a chance to win a medal and only one match stands between them and a guaranteed medal.
