It was a very fun match between Nick Kyrgios and Kevin Anderson as both possess a strong serve that allows for quick and short points. Anderson is a former Wimbledon finalist who plays great on hard courts as well but this time around he was bested by Kyrgios.
Both are coming off of injuries and both are still finding his form but after the match, Kyrgios paid respect to Anderson by saying:
"Kevin is no easy opponent, he’s a finalist at Grand Slams and he knows how to win matches. His serve is one of the best in the world, so I knew today was going to be incredibly tough."
Kyrgios won the match 7-6(3) 6-3 to move at Atlanta and on that said:
"I haven’t played too many matches, but I was serving well and I just love playing here in Atlanta. Kyrgios will play today as well against Cameron Norrie who won his maiden title last week in Los Cabos.
The Australian is also playing doubles with Jack Sock whom he described as one of his best mates.
