Team ROC will file a complaint against a Chilean reporter who asked Medvedev the controversial question about Russian athletes and cheating.
After his win over Fabio Fognini,
Daniil Medvedev held a press conference where a Chilean reporter asked a very dicey question. He was furious at the question of the reporter who wanted to know whether Daniil feels that Russian athletes carry the stigma of cheating in sports.
He quickly fired back at the reporter saying:
“First time in my life I’m not gonna answer a question. You should be embarrassed by yourself. I think you should wire him from the Olympics, I don’t wanna see him again.”
Now Team ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) which is the name under which Russian athletes participate at the Olympics have come out to support Medvedev calling his response dignified. Konstantin Vybornov on behalf of Team ROC said:
"We have been expecting provocative questions to be addressed in regard to our athletes. On
On the whole, we enjoy a very respectful treatment of our national team,
but at the same time, we encounter occasional persons who unashamedly
provoke us and try to knock our athletes off balance."
They also confirmed they will file a complaint against the Chilean reporter:
"He has been trying for the second day in a row to incite a
scandal in regard to our team asking over and over again the same
questions and in the same manner.
