While some of the highest-ranked players from the ATP Tour will meet in Vienna, those who didn't qualify for the event will participate in the 2020 Astana Open in Nur-Sultan as we know the draw.
The first-seeded at the Astana Open will be Benoit Paire who is the only player who could have played in Vienna but decided to go to Nur-Sultan as the first-seeded. The first four seeded players received a BYE and so the Frenchman will meet the winner of the match between Federico Delbonis and Mikhail Kukushkin in the second round.
The bottom part of the draw looks also very interesting. The second-seeded Miomir Kecmanovic will meet the winner of the match between Corentin Moutet and Frances Tiafoe. The draw features also Fernando Verdasco who will play against James Duckworth in the first round as the winner will take on John Millman in the second.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
