Emma Raducanu made a good return to tennis in
Portoroz easily controlling the match against Yastremska before the Ukraniania retired.
It was a fairly comfortable return for Raducanu who took on a decent player in Yastremska. The Ukrainian is pretty solid but also prone to totally erratic play which was on display early in this one. Raducanu took the ball early and she struck with a lot of confidence early in the match.
It resulted in a quick break and after that, things were much simpler for the Brit who cruised to a 6-2 finish in the opening set. She served well and despite dropping her serve once, largely dominated on her own serve. She did a lot of damage on return attacking Yastremska with great success.
The match was a bit more competitive in the second set as the Ukrainian brought a better level but Raducanu did not waste any time in getting an early break once more. From there was largely focusing on keeping her serve which worked well.
She didn't press the issue too much either which preserved her energy well for the finish but unfrotunately it came due to a retirement. She was up 5-3 and 30-0 at that point in time so she would have won it anyway.
