The ATP 250 Kitzbühel Open 2025 is scheduled to be played on outdoor clay courts in Austria, from July 20 to 26. This marks the final week of tournaments in Europe, and several stars will be looking to build good momentum before traveling to the North American hardcourt swing.
The defending champion is Italian
Matteo Berrettini, who defeated Hugo Gaston in the 2024 final. The former Wimbledon runner-up will compete in his first tournament after a few complicated months due to injury, which forced him to withdraw from the French Open and made him arrive just in time for Wimbledon. After being eliminated in the first round there, he decided to withdraw from Gstaad (the week before Kitzbühel) and won't defend this title either.
Alexander Bublik is the sole top-30 player in the main draw. The Kazakh built a strong presence at the French Open after reaching his first Grand Slam quarterfinals – remarkably on a surface he previously disliked the most. Shortly after, he won the Queen’s Club Championships title, but was eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon. Nevertheless, Bublik has rediscovered his form – and his fondness for clay courts – making him one of the names to watch.
Several top clay-court specialists will be looking for their chance on the surface. Argentinians
Sebastian Baez (3rd seed) and
Tomas Martin Etcheverry (6th seed) – both former top-30 players – will be other candidates to consider, as well as Spaniards
Roberto Bautista Agut (4th seed) and
Pedro Martinez (5th seed).

Predictions
Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees an Alexander Bublik resurgence again.
Alexander Bublik emerged onto the conscious of tennis fans and did as he always does have a good week then not follow up.
He won Halle and was marvelled at by Daniil Medvedev but both fell early at Wimbledon. He is top seed in Kitzbuhel this next week and to be honest it is a weak field now Matteo Berrettini as withdrawn.
Sebastian Baez is also in action once more. But I see Nicolas Jarry perhaps having a week to remember too. He showed green shoots at Wimbledon and with the altitude, it will favour the South Americans so he is in a cluster I'd plump for.
Favourites:
*** Alexander Bublik
** Sebastian Baez, Nicolas Jarry
* Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Pedro Martinez, Francisco Comesana
