The Erste Bank Open is coming to its end with only one match remaining to be played and it's the men's final between Lorenzo Sonego and Andrey Rublev.

The Erste Bank Open 2020 was a spectacular tennis tournament that gave us plenty of exciting moments despite many of the shocking ones. Now it's time for the final and it will be a match between Sonego and Rublev. Nobody expected the Italian to be in the final but he is and deservedly so. In order to be in the final Lorenzo had to win 6 matches considering he went through qualification. In those 6 matches, he only lost one set and it was to Bedene in the qualis. In the main draw, he didn't drop a set scoring impressive victories such as the one against Djokovic and even Evans in the semifinal.
His opponent Rublev had a different path as he was a seeded player but similar to his opponent he too didn't drop a single set. He won all four of his matches comfortably controlling the matches from start to finish. His ascension into the top of world tennis is a remarkable journey to behold and today he will be looking to win yet another tournament. If he does that he will automatically qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals where he will be a real threat considering his way of playing at the moment.
It goes without saying that Rublev is a clear and overwhelming favourite in this match. Everything he has shown this week and weeks prior points to a spectacular run that would be lacklustre without a trophy. Even so, Sonego should not be discounted as one does not smash Djokovic the way he did by chance. He has shown glimpses of this in the past but one has to wonder will he be able to bring the same magic to the 7th match in a row. They only played once so far and Rublev won that match back in 2016. The match is set to start at 14:00 CET and it's set to be a great one.
