American tennis star
Christopher Eubanks has set a new record at the
Wimbledon Championships, surpassing the milestone set by compatriot and retired legend
Andre Agassi.
Eubanks has been playing the best tennis of his career, beginning with lifting his maiden ATP title in Mallorca two weeks ago. The Atlanta native maintained his excellent form by reaching the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, before falling to former World No.1 Daniil Medvedev.
Eubanks sets record for most winners hit
Despite falling in the last eight of the tournament, Eubanks achieved a new milestone. The 27-year old hit 317 winners during his Wimbledon run, shattering the record set by Agassi in 1992. His aggressive style of play saw him blow past higher-seeded players en route to the quarterfinals, including World No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 16.
