Former player Chris Evert has praised Andy Murray after he was awarded the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian medal for his contribution to relief efforts in Ukraine this year.
Murray pledged to donate all of his prize money this year to children in need in Ukraine and he did just that. Winning over 600,000 dollars, Murray was able to accumulate quite a sizeable amount of money to send to the country. As a UNICEF ambassador, he takes this role and responsibility very seriously.
His efforts were recognized by the ATP which awarded him the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian award. It's not the first time he won it, as he won it in 2014 as well. Former number one, Chris Evert praised him for what he did by reacting to Darren Cahill's tweet calling Murray a good man:
