In recent times, there has been a call for tennis to unify itself with what would be a 'Super Tour', backed by Saudi Arabia, similar to what LIV Golf has done.
Being one of the most recognisable names in the sport, Andy Murray was inevitably asked about this by The National. "Tennis is in a difficult spot just now because I don’t think anyone knows exactly what’s next.
"There’s obviously been discussions with Saudi Arabia. Who’s going to work with them and what’s that going to look like? Will that be a tournament that happens there? Will it be multiple tournaments?
"I don’t know what it’s going to look like."
Best interests
With all the uncertainty around what a breakaway circuit would look like, Murray believes everyone needs to be on the same page for it to work. "Everyone’s looking out for their best interests and that’s not always the best thing for the sport.
"Everyone is sort of fighting a bit with each other and it would be much easier if everyone actually worked together for the common good."
