PredictionsSamuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate sees Taylor Fritz as the likely winner of a top tournament with a great line-up. Taylor Fritz had a great few weeks on the grass and heading into a pivotal juncture of the season, he leads the way and will likely win the title in Washington. After a great Wimbledon, Fritz will be a forerunner. Lorenzo Musetti is second seed and will be part of a great contingent of top names who will likely be involved in the reckoning. Other players involved include Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur, Daniil Medvedev and Tommy Paul - who after just getting engaged will also likely have a new pep in his step. Favourites *** Taylor Fritz ** Lorenzo Musetti, Ben Shelton * Alex de Minaur, Daniil Medvedev, Tommy Paul Cristhian Avila, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Ben Shelton as the top choice in Washington. The local players arrive with the most confidence, with Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton – a priori – as the names to watch. This is especially true for Fritz, a recent Wimbledon semifinalist. However, the American No. 1 usually takes some time to hit his best level after surface changes, and I don't see him quickly winning a title, despite undeniably having the best results during the previous weeks on grass courts. Someone I do believe can quickly get into great form is Shelton. He can capitalize on playing at home and a draw that looks favorable from the start. The return of Holger Rune should also be considered; he's a name we always keep in mind, and after his first-round upset at Wimbledon, he's had ample time to make adjustments for the hardcourt swing. The always dangerous Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has been fighting for his first professional title for a while now, though he always falls just short of the feat. It seems like he'll achieve a well-deserved title sooner rather than later. The talented Jenson Brooksby and the experienced Daniil Medvedev are other players I see taking advantage of the hardcourt swing's start to make an early impact in the tournament. Favourites: *** Ben Shelton ** Taylor Fritz, Holger Rune * Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Daniil Medvedev, Jenson Brooksby Entry List

- Doubt she recalls which 'man' she acquired those underwear from... but the label probably has "ATP" on it.
- I've lately been thinking everyone is pointing to the wrong location for "illness" and constant "injury".
Perhaps some 'couch time' is in order at this point?
- She has long outlived this shitshow she started. So, according to this lucky winner, ALL THE WORLD's CITIZENS should shun one another while forced to live under threatening, insane Leaders and Regimes?
A sad individual who thinks she's changing the World with her ridiculous shunning of Russian opponents.
Must be a hard life worrying about Ukraine from her balcony overlooking Monte Carlo?
WTA needs to take a REAL stand here.
Otherwise ban flags and handshakes by Russia, China, Israel, Iran, USA.....
(Get the picture??)
- They still with that crap??? These Ukrainians need to just stop. Your Russian opponents have nothing to do with the war against your country. They didn't start it and by you not shaking their hands certainly won't end it. All this bitterness and unforgiveness will not augur well for these silly women.
- Tennis knows it has a huge problem with Hi-Tech line calls on clay. They've admitted so behind closed doors.
However they do nothing except make a rule that no one can argue a call; no matter the proof.
Perhaps the new WTA CEO will take a stand??
- "Accused" ??
They've been doing this regularly at tourneys... and yelling over the opponent standing right in front of them. Last season as well, when at one point Coco asked them to stop.
- Courier is an idiot. It's a virus which has been medically confirmed early last week.
- When is this Williams shitshow going to be stopped???
STEALING WILDCARDS from young, promising talents is disgusting, I don't care how big an Ego someone has. Dignity & Integrity are obviously out the window.
Williams Family needs the spotlight so bad -- install a little theater at home, with professioal studio lighting, an applause track, and enjoy your needy selves.
- Sad? I'm laughing at what a loser you are.
